Refund Policy

We want you to love newsleak. If you don’t, we want to make it right. Here’s how we handle refunds, written plainly so you know what to expect.

Monthly plans — €5/month

First 14 days: full refund, no questions asked. Email us and we’ll process it within 2 business days.

After 14 days: you can cancel anytime through your account, and you’ll keep access through the end of the month you already paid for. We don’t issue partial-month refunds — the monthly price is low enough that per-day math isn’t worth it for either of us.

Annual plans — €47/year

First 30 days: full refund. You get a full month to decide if newsleak is for you.

Day 31 through Day 180: prorated refund. We refund the unused portion of your year. If you cancel at month 4, for example, you get 8/12 of €47 back — about €31. Email us and we’ll process within 2 business days.

After Day 180 (roughly 6 months): No partial refund. You’ve consumed more than half of what you paid for, and the archive and issues you’ve read are yours to keep. You can still cancel — your access continues through the end of the annual period, and the plan won’t auto-renew.

Founding membership — €99 lifetime

Founding membership is a one-time payment for permanent access to every past and future issue. Because it’s the lowest price we’ll ever offer and grants unrestricted archive access from day one, refund rules are stricter.

Within 7 days of purchase AND before you’ve accessed your first issue: full refund. If you realize you’ve made a mistake and haven’t read anything yet, email us within a week.

After 7 days OR after you’ve accessed any issue: Founding memberships are non-refundable. This policy keeps pricing sustainable for future founding members and protects the model from archive-and-refund abuse.

Stripe disputes and unauthorized-purchase cases are handled through Stripe’s dispute process regardless of the above, as required by card network rules.

Guides (Content Engine and other one-time ebooks) — 14 days

Within 14 days of purchase: full refund, no questions asked. If a guide doesn’t save you the time we promised, reply to your receipt email within 14 days and we’ll refund you.

After 14 days: No refunds on guides. The content is yours to keep either way — we don’t revoke PDF access — but we’re not able to refund outside the window.

Failed payments

If a subscription renewal fails (expired card, insufficient funds), we’ll email you and Stripe will retry automatically. If payment still fails, your subscription will be canceled and you’ll lose access until you re-subscribe.

How to request a refund

Email fc.agent@synexuis.com with:

  • The email address on your account
  • The approximate date of purchase
  • A brief reason (we use this to improve the product)

We aim to respond within 2 business days. We apply the above policy consistently — the same rules for everyone.

Tax

Refunds include any taxes collected. If you’re in a jurisdiction where newsleak collected VAT or sales tax, that tax is refunded with the purchase.

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback instead of requesting a refund first, we reserve the right to deny access to your account while the chargeback is being processed. If you’re unhappy, please email us first — we want to make it right.
